Our Roots: Yerba Buena

Con Todo Corazon is a living ofrenda to my beloved abuelita’s ancestral directive. Mama Pina loved con todo su corazon (with all her heart) and as she prepared to leave this earth reflected on her corazon cansado, her tired heart. She said, “la vida - penas, dolores y sufrimientos son causa de mi debilidad física” or “life – emotional pain, sorrow, sufferings have caused my physical ailments.”

It was she who led me to my personal path of holistic ancestral healing. She taught me the connection between mind, body, spirit and the climates/systems that cause so many women to carry tired hearts. In full grief and heartbreak, I surrendered and remain connected to her guidance through prayer and ritual.
